Patients with cochlear implants must receive ongoing and consistent care in order to maximize outcomes. However, for some patients access to care may be limited by geography, mobility, or family and work responsibilities. In this course, we will explore how Cochlear’s Remote Care technology is making it possible to provide quality care to patients without a trip into the clinic and we will provide detail on Remote Check, a tool that allows clinicians to monitor patient progress anytime and anywhere.

Chronic Otitis Media (COM) may contribute more than half of the global burden of hearing loss but there is no global consensus on diagnostic and treatment guidelines for hearing loss due to the disease. Research suggests that bone conduction may be an effective and patient-preferred alternative to treating COM-related hearing loss versus hearing aids for many patients, providing consistent and reliable access to sound regardless of the disease cycle. This course will focus on case studies presented by audiologists actively fitting bone conduction solutions.

This presentation will introduce the telemetry measurements available in the Nucleus Cochlear Implant System, including impedance and Neural Response Telemetry or NRT. We will present the basics of measuring both impedance and NRT and discuss their uses in a clinical setting

This presentation will discuss advanced topics related to Neural Response Telemetry (NRT) in the Nucleus Device. Participants should have a basic understanding of NRT and its clinical uses before attending this course.
