This course will begin with a discussion on the fundamental purpose and importance of real ear measurement and investigate techniques to encourage efficient clinical utility. Then we will review device selection and fitting based upon output specifics, acoustic coupling, occlusion and feedback management as all of these factors have a significant impact on real ear measurement. Next, troubleshooting techniques will be organized and presented by low, mid and high frequency regions that can be applied when targets are not met in each region. Finally, the course will conclude with strategies for clinical decision making and the development of counseling narratives based upon real ear results.

The hearing industry offers many Bluetooth compatible technologies for hearing aid wearers. This event will help attendees understand what Bluetooth languages are used with Phonak technology, how the aids interact with Bluetooth devices, and how to troubleshoot functions.

Target fitting software is an integral part of the fitting process and is being updated regularly. While much of the fitting software remains the consistent with previous versions, updates include new hearing performance features, programing options and fitting functionality. The software will be discussed in detail to provide confidence when programming Phonak hearing aids.

Cognition as it relates to hearing loss has been an important topic of discussion for the last decade. In this course, hearing care providers will learn about the foundations of cognition and hearing loss, and how to proactively address hearing loss and promote healthy living as a way to possibly mitigate cognitive decline and positively impact the overall well-being of their clients.
