Although hearing aids are unlikely to solve all hearing related issues, the positive effects of wearing hearing aids are well-documented and appreciated by users. This article discusses the status of hearing aid technology today and its future directions.

Research has linked physical health to the prevalence of hearing loss, and the prevalence of hearing loss to cognitive health. As hearing healthcare professionals, it is important to understand these relationships from the aspect of counseling patients on the impact of lifestyle on hearing and the benefit of hearing aids on listening lifestyle and satisfaction.

This course will discuss findings from a qualitative study exploring the perceptions of teens, audiologists, and caregivers on tele-audiology and examining how a commercially available hearing aid fine-tuning service based on asynchronous tele-audiology could be optimized. Barriers to remote provision of fine-tuning services, suggestions for remote service protocols, and improvements in tele-audiology are also discussed.

This presentation will introduce the process for performing remote fine-tuning sessions using ReSound Assist: Live Assistance. Details will describe steps as they pertain to both the patient and the Government Services clinician.

This course will provide an in-depth review of the features of ReSound Assist and the benefits of remote programming. It will cover Remote Fine Tuning as well as Resound Assist Live.

Private practices have been affected by the Covid-19 situation across the US to differing degrees. Most have had to close or significantly reduce hours of operation based on local regulations.
