Today’s CI clinics are experiencing increased numbers of patients with little increase in resources to support those patients. During this course, René Gifford, Ph.D., will provide information about how to improve clinical efficiency in CI clinics, identify ways to connect CI candidates with your CI clinic, and identify support resources from AB.

This webinar provides a review of methodologies for studying listening effort in hearing science, focusing on subjective and behavioral measures of effort. Recent hearing aid and cochlear implant research using these listening effort methodologies is also discussed.

The most recent objective tool from MED-EL, Anatomy-Based Fitting (ABF), coupled with Electrically Evoked Stapedial Reflex Threshold (ESRT) measurements, allows audiologists to quickly achieve best outcomes for fitting both loudness and pitch with cochlear implant recipients, promoting clinical efficiency.

This course is designed to educate audiologists on the practical workflow for patients who require cochlear implants. From Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved indications and Medicare requirements to pre-op and post-op evaluations, audiologists will gain a clear understanding of the cochlear implant process.

This course focuses on referral, candidacy, and the evaluation process for cochlear implantation (CI) in children with single-sided deafness (SSD). Expected outcomes and factors that could influence performance in this population are discussed.

This two-part series covers considerations in the cochlear implant (CI) evaluation process, including outcomes, benefits, and quality of life for those with single-sided deafness (SSD). Both the adult and pediatric populations are discussed. A background on how CI utilization and perspectives for CI in SSD have changed and expanded in recent years are covered.
