This course begins by providing estimates of the prevalence of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and ASD and hearing loss as well as strategies to obtain a valid hearing test from children with this disorder. The remainder of the course focuses on assessing and managing common auditory difficulties faced by children with ASD and normal hearing sensitivity. Strategies to mitigate listening difficulties include school accommodations, remote-microphone technology, and auditory training.
