Hearing Evaluation Adults CEU Courses

This course examines the impact of hearing treatment in adults on aspects of overall health and well-being, with a particular focus on adults with hearing loss who are at risk for mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Through this course, we will illuminate the role of cognitive screening in audiology clinical practice and the ways in which cognitive screening can aid in clinical decision making and the treatment and rehabilitation process.

In 2020, SHOEBOX collaborated on pilot studies in conjunction with Bruyère’s Geriatric Rehabilitation Center, the Bruyère Memory Clinic, and the Sam and Ida Ross Memory Clinic at Baycrest to determine the feasibility of implementing hearing screening as part of routine practice and to compare hearing related clinical practices before and after implementation. Key learnings and insights from these hearing screening pilot initiatives will be shared in this webinar.

This course will provide case examples of patients who have been evaluated for a cochlear implant with a summary of their outcomes.
