Many patients do not understand the different streaming protocols or basics of how to properly use smart devices with their hearing aids. This course examines the basics of what Bluetooth is and some common troubleshooting tools that patients and providers alike can benefit from.

Prescriptive hearing aid fitting rationales play an important role in successful hearing aid fittings. The ability to optimize the hearing aid response from the first fit forward is necessary to ensure the technology being fit provides amplification that is appropriate for the hearing loss, promotes effective communication, and addresses the individual needs of the patient. Hearing aid fitting formulas can also play a role in the acceptance or rejection of amplification. In this session, Dr. Dave Fabry discusses fitting formulas with Dr. Andrea Hannan Dawkes, Senior Education & Training Audiologist.

Telehealth technology for hearing healthcare has continued to grow in popularity and offers both patient and professional the ease of connecting when convenient. Starkey’s TeleHear Remote programming technology makes remote programming even easier: offering both synchronous and asynchronous tools to truly meet your patient where they are.

Assistive devices can provide benefit in challenging environments and are available in the form of accessories, telecoils and loop systems. This course will review the rationale for recommending a number of assistive device technologies to increase success for the hearing aid wearer.

This course will review the benefits of a dedicated music processing system, streaming music protocols, and how patients can adjust these features to optimize the world of music around them.
